First-ever women engineer confce held in city

Speakers at a virtual conference have said female engineers are making a significant contribution to different sectors of development in the country.
Like male counterparts, they (female engineers) are upholding their professionalism in various disciplines of engineers, they told the conference in the city.
For the first time in the country, the Engineers Foundation organized the women engineers conference-2020 on Tuesday.
The Institute of Engineers ,Bangladesh (IEB) President Engr. Md.Abdus Sabur inaugurated the programme as the chief guest.
Chief Engineer of the Department of Education Engineering Engr. Bulbul Akhtar, Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering at BUET Dr. Engr. Raushan Mumtaz, Additional Chief Engineer of Bangladesh Power Development Board Nira Majumder, LGED Project Director Engineer Salma Shahid and Director of RAJUK and IB Central Council Member Engr Tanjila Khanam, among others, spoke on the occasion.
