A week-long Tax Fair-2015 will be held in Chittagong at the premises of Chittagong Tax Building -2 in the city from September 16 to 22 next. Tax fair is being arranged in district and divisional levels since long but for the first time, such fair will be arranged in Upazlla levels also. Besides Chittagong, tax fair will held in Cox’s Bazar for 4 days, two days each in Rangamati, Bandarban & Khagrachari and the mobile tax fair arranged for one day in each upazilas. Sources said best tax payers of Chittagong Corporation and district level will be honoured on September 15 (today). A colourfulrally on the occasion of tax fair will be brought out in the city led the Minister for Public Works Engr. Mosharraf Hossain . The minister also inaugurate the fair tomorrow as chief guest while the city mayor will grace it as special guest. This was disclosed at a press conference held at Tax office auditourim at Agrabad in city on Sunday .
Convenor of the tax fair committee and Appellate Commissioner of Chittgong Kazi Emdadul Hoque read out the written statement before the meet. Mentionable that in the immediate past tax fair , an amount of 6,204 cr tax realized from 4 Tax zones of Chitagong and the target is fixed this year for Tk.8000cr from 4 tax zones. Commissioner of Tax Zone-2 Pradut Kumar Sarkar, Commissioner of Tax Zone-3 Nazrul Islam and commissioner of Tax zone-4 Motaher Hossain, additional tax commissioner of tax zone-1 Md. Abu Doud, Addl. Commissioner Bazlul Kabir Bhuyia and Additional Commissioner Safia Jahan spoke in the press meet, sources said.
