MV Venus Triumph, the Panama-flagged merchant ship successfully anchored at the port of Matarbari in Moheskhali channel of the Bay. The ship was brought to the jetty at 10:30 am yesterday with the help of a powerful tugboat ‘Kandari-6’ led by two senior pilots of the Chattogram port.
The ship arrived at the outer berth of Chattogram Port from Indonesia around 5:30 am.. CPA Assistant Harbor Master Captain. Ataul Hakim Siddiqui confirmed the matter to the media.Due to the high draft of the Matarbari deep seaport channel, the ship was able to land directly at the jetty without having to wait for the tide.
Depending on the tide of Karnafuli river at chattogram port, the waiting ships were brought to the jetty. If the waiting time increases, the transportation cost increases for the importers.According to port sources, 7 36 tons of steel structure has been brought in 313 packages for the development project. These include beams, columns, girders, towers, etc. The local agent of the ship is Insight Steamship Company Limited.

Earlier, six buoys were placed in the port channel to ensure safe arrival of the ship. Besides, the specialized ship engaged in laying the pipeline of Bangladesh Shipping Corporation at the bottom of the sea was removed.
