Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid MP inaugurated first ever Anatomy and Fisheries Museum of the country at Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Science University on Wednesday as Chief Guest.
The Minister also unveiled the plaque of Bangabandhu’s Mural at its campus . Education Minister in the inaugural ceremony of the museum said the new generations should be built as architects of the modern Bangladesh with acquiring knowledge .
He disclosed it while addressing the inaugural ceremony and the orientation programme of the newly admitted students of session 2016-17 as chief guest. Prof. Dr. Goutam Buddha presided over the function . Secretary of Secondary & Higher Education Division Md. Shohrab Hossain and former Mayor ABM Mohiuddin chowdhury were present in it as special guests. Eldery teacher of Chitttagong University Prof.Dr. Moinul Islam delivered introductory speech on the occasion.
Dean of Fisheries Faculty Prof. Dr. Nurul Absar Khan delivered address of welcome in it.Among others, Dean of Food Science Technology Prof. Dr. Raihan Faruk, President of Teachers Association & Proctor Prof.Goutam Kumar Devnath, Director of Students Welfare Department Prof. Dr. Md. Alamgir Hossain, Vice Chancellor of Chittagong University Prof. Dr. Iftekhar uddin chowdhury, Vice chancellor of USTC Prof Dr Prabat Chandra Barua, Registrar of CVASU Mirza Faruk Imam also spoke in it. Mural of Bangabandhu was built with white stone and granite with height of 15 feets . After unveiling plaque of the mural , Minister, Teachers, invited guests, students paid tributes to Bangabandhu by placing floral wreaths .
CVASU sources said species of 425 fishes of sea and sweet water preserved in the museum . In anatomy museum, Skelton of 60 animals and 500 organ parts of different animals were preserved .
