The Walton 1st Beach Taekwondo began at the Laboni Point in Cox’s Bazar Sea Beach on Sunday.
Operative Director (Head of Sports & Welfare Department) of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn inaugurated the Taekwondo meet as the chief guest. General Secretary of Cox’s Bazar District Sports Association Anup Barua Apu, Joint-Secretary of the Association Harunur Rashid and General Secretary of Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation Mahmudul Islam Rana were present at the time.
A total of 210 boys and girls from different 16 teams are taking part in the two-day long taekwondo competition.
The weight categories in the junior division of the men’s group are: Under-58 kg, under-68 kg, under-78 kg and above 78 kg.
The weight categories in the junior division of the women’s group are: Under-49 kg, under-57 kg, under-63 kg and above 63.
Besides, the competition will be held in junior division of the men’s group and women’s group of singles, doubles and team event.
Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation has arranged the taekwondo meet under auspices of Walton Group.
