Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said the present government is working to increase the capability of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense.
“The Fire Service and Civil Defense is now engaged in multifarious services. So the government is working to increase its capacity further,” he said this recently while addressing the concluding parade of newly appointed officers in the department as the chief guest at Purbachal on the outskirt of the city.
Security Service Division Secretary M Shahiduzzaman attended the function as the special guest, while Director General of Fire Service and Civil Defense Brigadier General Ali Ahmad Khan and other senior officers concerned were also present.
The Home Minister said fire service are not only dealing with regular accidents but also putting on enormous efforts in dealing with new façade of disaster and accidents with utmost sincerity with whatever available equipments to keep their reputation intact.
He expressed his hope that the newly appointed officers will play a significant role in enhancing the reputation and dignity of this department. Congratulating all newly appointed officers for successfully completing their basic training, the minister said, “Fire Service and Civil Defense is a service oriented organization. From now on you have joined the work of this service to severe the people. It is important to remember your duty is to protect people’s lives and property.”
“Though you have completed basic training successfully, I think, your actual training will start from today.
