A passenger bus caught fire on the Moghbazar flyover in the city on Wednesday afternoon.
However, no one was injured in the incident, fire service official said.
Md Mahfuz, Duty Officer, Fire Service and Civil Defense (FSCD) Headquarters, said “A Gazipur bound
Manzil Paribahan bus travelling from Dhaka towards caught fire on the Maghbazar-Mouchak flyover in Maghbazar around 12:50pm. The fire broke out near the Wireless Gate.
Al the passengers were safe as fire broke out in the near of the vehicle.”
On information, two units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after half an hour, according to him.
A passenger of the bus claimed that the fire might have originated from low quality of the gas cylinder.
