A disabled man was killed and a house gutted when a devastating fire broke out at Rampur village under Lohagora upazila of the district on Friday.
The deceased was identified as disabled Babar Ali Fakir, 42, son of Naeb Ali Fakir, a resident of Rampur village under Lohagora upazila of the district.
Police and fire service sources said the fire originated from a Mosquito coil of Babar’s house at about 4 am and soon engulfed the house.
Local people extinguished the blaze after one hour of frantic efforts as The Tin Shed house and goods were completely burnt to ashes in the fire, they said.
Lohagora thana officer-in-charge (OC) Syed Ashikur Rahman said police visited the spot.
