Fire gutted valuables, worth Tk 9 lakh, of three houses, three godowns and three shops in Bayezid Bostami area of Chittagong city on Thursday .
The fire, originated from a mosquito coil in a house, soon spread to adjacent houses, shops and godowns at Maider Mill around 4:05am, said Shahidul Islam of Agrabad Fire Service Control Room.
Fire fighters rushed to the spot and managed to douse the blaze after three hours.
