A devastating fire broke out in a steel re-rolling mills in Chittagong on Thursday morning. The fire incident occurred in Ahsan Steel Re-Rolling Mills at Mizertek area under Karnaphuli thana in city .
The fire originated from electric short circuit which engulfed quickly inside the mills area leaves generator room, transformer, furnace oil, panel board, control room, valuable lights and circuit breakers were in the fire. Sensing the news of fire, two fire extinguishing mobile unit rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after two and half hours hectic efforts , sources said. Fire ser vices sources said properties worth aboutTk.2 crores gutted by the fire but the mills authority lodged a GD before the Karnaphuli thana claiming loss of Tk.40-50 crores in the fire.
