Staff Reporter: A fire gutted at least 50 shanties and garment factory waste godowns at a slum in Narayanganj city around 2:30am on early Sunday.
Abdullah Al Arefin, Deputy Director of Fire Service and Civil Defence in Narayanganj, confirmed it.
Locals said, the fire broke out in the slum in Isdair bazar area which spread sharply and burnt 50 shanties including at 15 ‘jhut’ godown
Fire service official said seven firefighting units put the blaze out around 4:00am.
