A fire drill was held on the premises of Shah Amanat International Airport here on Tuesday with a view to building capacity of its staff as well as passengers to deal with any fire-related incident. Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authorities hosted the mock emergency exercise in the afternoon.
During the fire drill, volunteers who played as the representatives of Air Force, Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Coast Guard personnel, Police, Ansar members and BNCC personnel displayed their skills in dousing a fire, rescuing trapped people and providing first aid for the injured people.A total of 57 volunteers took part in the drill.
Airport Manager Wing Commander Riajul Kabir delivered the greeting speech while Member of Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority Air Commander M Mostafizur Rahman addressed the event and conveyed thanks to the participants as the chief guest.
