A fire gutted a forklift during unloading of goods from a vessel at Chittagong port on Thursday night.
Fire service sources said the fire originated from a spark in a forklift while it was unloading goods at Number-4 Jetty of Chittagong Port around 11:45pm.
On receipt of information, two units of fire fighters from Bandar station rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control around 1:00am.
Valuables worth about TK 10 lakh were gutted in the fire while the fire fighters managed to save valuables worth about TK 50 lakh from the fire, the sources added.
