A fire broke out in a six-storey sweater factory on the Sataish Road of Tongi in the Gazipur district on Saturday afternoon.
Tongi Fire Service Official Zakir Hossain said that the fire originated from an electric short circuit on the third floor of ‘SA Sweater Factory’ at around 5:30pm and it soon raged through the fourth floor of the building.
On information, four fire
service units from Gazipur and Tongi rushed to the spot and they doused the blaze in two hours effort.
The amount of the losses in fire could not be known immediately.
