News Desk :
A fire broke out at a highrise apartment building in the capital’s Segunbagicha area in the early hours of Tuesday, reports UNB.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
The fire started at the fifth floor of the 16-storey Domino-Altura building around 2am, Rafi Al Faruque Duty Officer (media), Fire Service and Civil Defense Headquarters, told UNB.
As many as seven fire tenders were pressed into service but it took them an hour and a half to fully douse the flames, he said. “An electrical short-circuit is suspected to have triggered the fire.”
