A fire that broke out on Thursday afternoon in an oil processing plant at Hemayetpur of Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka, has been brought under control. But at least two fire service men were seriously injured while trying to douse the inferno.
The fire incident occurred at Nasrin auto-mobile factory around 2.40 pm yesterday.
At least five firefighting units from Savar, Ashulia and Mirpur, extinguished the flames after about two hours efforts around 4:00pm.
The injured persons have been identified as Pankaj and Nur Mohammad, both were staff of Kalyanpur Fire Service Station. The victims were sent to Savar Anam Medical College Hospital.
Anwarul Haque, Commander (Zone-4) of Fire Service and Civil Defence confirmed the news to media that the origin of the fire could not be known immediately.
