A fire broke out at a garment factory at Kanchpur in Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj district on Monday morning.
Probash Chandra, an inspector at Fire Service Headquarters, said the fire broke out on the 11th floor of ‘Sinha Garment’ around 7:09am.
On information, eight fire-fighting units rushed to spot and doused the blaze around 8:50am before it caused major damage.
In another fire incident, a large quantity of shoes were gutted in a fire that
broke out at a shoe factory at Demra in the city on Monday.
The fire reportedly originated from the sparks of welding process and engulfed the tin-shed factory at about 11am.
Being informed a total of 11 firefighting units rushed to spot and brought the fire under control nearly three hours after it broke out at factory.
