A fire broke out at a textile factory of ‘Opex and Sinha Group’ in Kanchpur industrial area of Sonargaon upazila on Monday night.
Bazlur Rahman, senior station officer of Demra Fire Service, said the fire originated from the cutting section of ‘Denim Factory’ of the group around 8:30am and it soon spread to other sections.
On information, nine fire-fighting units of Adamjee and Araihazar fire stations rushed in and doused the flame around 9:45pm. Huge cotton, some machinery and other goods were gutted in the fire. It was not clear what caused the fire.
