A knit garment factory in Kadam Rasul area of Sitakunda upazila in Chittagong caught fire Saturday. According to Agrabad Control Room of Fire Service, the fire originated at the knit factory of Infinia Group, a sister concern of S Alam Group, at 11:35 am. It is initially assumed that the fire originated from an electric short-circuit.
On information, a total of eight firefighting vehicles rushed to the spot and doused the fire after four hours of frantic effort at 3:45pm.
The extent of damage and the actual reason behind the fire could not be ascertained immediately.
