A fire broke out inside the office of the Officer-in-Charge (Immigration) at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on Sunday morning.
However, no causality was reported as the flame was doused instantly by internal fire extinguishers of the airport, airport police sources said.
ASP Morshed Jahan of Armed Police Battalion (APB) said that the fire originated from an electric short circuit around 8:30 am, but it was doused instantly through the airport’s internal arrangements.
The fire broke out on the immigration office at the second floor, the police official said.
When contacted, fire service headquarters on-duty officer Nazrul Islam said that they did not receive any such information.
