The fire that broke out at a shopping mall in the city’s Hatirpool area on Wednesday morning was doused after two hours of frantic efforts of firefighters.
Duty officer of the Fire Service Control Room Ataur Rahman said the fire originating from electric short circuit broke out on the fourth floor of Motaleb Plaza in the area around 9:15am and spread soon.
On information, eleven firefighting units rushed in and extinguished the blaze around 11 am.
Two shops were gutted in the fire.
