A fire broke up on the roof of the BIRDEM Hospital on Saturday evening.
However, Hospital staff doused the fire before fire service reached the scene.
Kamal Hossain, Sub-Inspector of Ramna Police Station, said that the Hospital staff had brought the fire under control before it spread. It was not a major incident.
Hospital Security Officer Abdul Bashir said, the fire originated from the cigarette.
