Communication Club (IBACC) is going to initiate FINWITZ, an inter-university Finance-based competition, preliminary round of which will be held on November 13 next.
Four-member teams from around 25 public and private universities will participate in the competition. Teams will be given assignments to assess their skills of valuation, equity research, financial statement analysis, portfolio management etc.
The preliminary round will be held with more than one hundred teams on November 13. Forty-two teams will qualify for the first round, followed by second round with 18 teams, according to a press release.
The final round with 6 finalist teams is expected to be held on December 15. The winning team will win a prize money of Tk. 150,000 with the first runner-up receiving Tk. 75,000 and second runner-up receiving Tk. 50,000.
” I believe that this event, which is poised to be highly competitive, will help its participants develop their finance skills to a considerable extent,” the press release quoted IBA-DU Director Dr. A. K. M Saiful Majid, as saying on the announcement.
IBACC has teamed up with LR Global Bangladesh, a New York-based investment management firm to organize FINWITZ. LR Global is the most experienced and only multinational Asset management company in Bangladesh.
