Three hundred and fifty financially challenged students of different departments under the Faculty of Business Studies of Dhaka University (DU) have been given scholarship. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman distributed scholarships among the students as the chief guest at a function on Thursday at the conference room of Business Studies Faculty. NCC Bank Ltd, First Security Islamic Bank Ltd and BRAC Bank Ltd have donated money for this scholarship.
Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies of DU Prof Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam presided over the function while Managing Director of First Security Islamic Bank Syed Waseque Md. Ali, Deputy Managing Director of NCC Bank Khondoker Nayeemul Kabir and Deputy Managing Director of BRAC Bank Chowdhury Akhtar Asif addressed it as special guests. Prof Dr Razia Begum of DU Marketing Department and Prof Dr Hasina Sheykh of DU Banking and Insurance Department also addressed the program.
DU VC Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman urged the rich people of the society and philanthropists to come forward with their helping hands for financially challenged students. He stressed the need for making inclusive society to achieve sustainable development goal.
