Speakers on Thursday laid emphasis on providing financial supports to potential growers for increasing crops production in the country.
Farmers in the rural area are producing various high-yielding and high-valued crops, fruits and vegetables as discussed in the meeting on Thursday.
Nazrul Islam, Chairman of RAKUB, addressed the branch managers performance evaluation 20 meeting at Simante Abokash as the chief guest.
More than 60 bankers including 42 branch managers from Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj Zones of RAKUB attended the meeting.
With General Manager Azizul Islam in the chair, acting Managing Director Nurul Islam, General Managers Towhida Khatun and Mofizul Haque and Zonal Managers Mohabbat Ali Biswas and Abdulllah Salah Uddin Gazi also spoke on the occasion.
Nazrul Islam asked the branch managers to discharge their duty with utmost sincerity and honesty to attain the targets of loan disbursement and recovery and deposit collections.
All the credit programmes of the bank should be need- oriented and emphasis should be given on reaching banking services to the doorstep of the farmers.
He also urged them to speed up the farmers-level lending activities for boosting agricultural production to meet the gradually increasing food demand.
“You have to supplement the government efforts for boosting the agricultural production, livelihood development of the farmers along with ensuring the food security,” added Nazrul Islam.
