Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal leaves here for Washington in the early hours of Monday to attend the Annual Meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Kamal, who is leading the Bangladesh delegation, is scheduled to meet the Vice President of the South Asia region of the World Bank Hartwig Schafer on October 17 as well as attend a meeting of the Finance Ministers of the SAARC countries, said a Finance Ministry press release.
The release said the annual meeting highlighting the World Bank’s fund would be held on October 18. The minister is expected to return home on October 27 after attending some meetings of the IMF.
The Annual Meetings of the World Bank and IMF are expected to discuss the current trend of the global economy side by side a roundtable discussion is scheduled to be held on mobilizing more funding for the forcibly displaced Rohingyas.
