The final round of the JFA Under-14 Women’s National Football Championship kicks-off today at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. Thakurgaon district team will take on Rajbari district team in the day’s first match at 2.00 pm. In the day’s other match, Rajshahi district team will face Manikganj district team at 4.00 pm.
Bangladesh Football Federation has arranged the gala football meet for women under auspices of Japan Football Association.
Marking the ensuing football competition, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) House on Wednesday. General Secretary of Bangladesh Football Federation Md Abu Nayeem Shohag, Chairperson of the Women’s Committee of BFF Mahfuza Akter Kiron, Operative Director (Head of Sports & Welfare Department) of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn were present at the conference, among others.
A total of eight teams splitting into two groups are taking part in the final round of the football tournament. Thakurgaon district team, Rajshahi district team, Manikganj district team, Rajbari district team are in Group-A, while Mymensingh district team, Tangail district team, Comilla district team, Satkhira district team are in Group-B.
The champions of the Group-A will take on the runners-up of the Group-B in the first semi-final on November 8, while the champions of the Group-B will meet the runners-up of the Group-A in the second semi-final on the same day.
The winners of the two semi-finals will face each other in the final on November 10.
The champions will be awarded Taka fifty thousand, while the runners-up will get Taka twenty five thousand. The participating teams will get Taka twenty five thousand each.
Besides, Walton Group will give home appliance to the successful individual performers in seven categories.
