BSS, Dhaka :
Information Minster Hasanul Huq Inu said that films could never compromise with militancy. The minister said this on Sunday while attending as chief guest at a “muharrat” of a telefilm “Mon jane na moner thikana” produced by Channel-i at the Film Development Corporation (FDC). “By undertaking its proper role films could free people from the curse of partisanship, corruption and militancy and restore the medium to its former glory. They could play an unique role in building and developing society”, he said.
Inu said this land of 16 crore is a nation of valiant people. We are a valiant nation. We are a nation that raises its head high. What is needed to take it forward is healthy culture. And films are the most powerful medium of that sector. Therefore, we have to think about it. We have to bring in technology and revive it by injecting blood into it.
The information minister said the Mahajote government had taken a number of steps to give new life to films. There was no allocation for FDC in the past.
