Film actor Shahin Alam passes away

Noted film actor Shahin Alam passed away at a hospital in the capital on Monday night. He breathed his last at Asgar Ali Hospital around 10:05pm. He was 58. He was suffering from chronic kidney disease. He had also been suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure. The actor used to stay at home most of the time due to his physical condition. He was diagnosed with kidney disease five years ago and had been regularly undergoing dialysis. He was admitted to the hospital with fever and body aches last month. Later, he fell sick with severe kidney problems and he was on life support since March 6 as his health condition deteriorated. Shahin Alam made his silver screen debut with the film Mayar Kanna in 1991 after participating in a talent hunt competition titled Notun Mukher Sondhane organised by BFDC in 1986.
Shahin Alam was born on December 6 in 1962 and grew up in Dhaka. He used to perform on stage. He entered cinema in 1986 as a new face. During that time SM Shafi, the famous producer of
Be-Dwin came to notice him. He chose Shahin as Masud Rana in his dream project Masud Rana, which was not finished though.
In his long career, Shahin acted in more than 150 movies like Ghater Majhi, Ek Polokey, Goriber Sangsar, Teji, Prem Protishod, Tiger, Swapner Nayok, Big Boss, Pagla Babul, Papi Sontan, Dolopoti, Ajana Shotru, Bidrohi Salauddin, Dhakaiya Mastan and others. He quit
acting after his film Darowaner Chhele, which was released in 2011
and decided to make a living as a businessman.
