Leaders of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and Dhaka Union of Journalists ( DUJ) in a statement to the press yesterday condemned the filing of case against senior renowned journalist and Bangladesh Protidin Editor Naem Nizam and Staff Reporter of Bangladesh Protidin Ruhul Amin Russel, says a press release.
BFUJ President Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul and Secretary General Omar Faruk and DUJ President Shaban Mahmood and General Secretary Shohel Haider Chowdhury have expressed deep concern at the filing of case by Lutfunnesa, an MP from reserved seat in Patuakhali and her husband Sultan Ahmed Mridha demanding compensation of Tk 10 cr to harass two journalists.
They immediately demanded withdrawal of case against them and ensuring security to them.
The statement said, it is unethical to file case after publishing corrigendum of the news regarding corruption
