A fire burnt furniture and documents in a room at Parliament Bhaban on Wednesday morning.

Minister Tofail Ahmed said that the fire originated at room No. 433.
He added that the fire originated from electric wire and burnt furniture including sofa, table, chair, oven, various files, a computer and bookshelves.
Shahjadi Sultana, an on-duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence said that getting information at around 8:32am, four firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the fire after 20 minutes of anxious effort.
Reason behind the fire could not be known immediately, he added.
The heat of the blaze also melted a computer monitor of another room, sources of Jatiya Sangsad said.
They also said that none was injured in the incident.
Ashraful Haque, Sergeant-at-Arms of the Parliament Secretariat said the fire started in the room of the personal secretary of Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed.
