The FIFA World Cup trophy arrived at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Wednesday. A chartered flight of FIFA brought the FIFA World Cup from Pakistan. Christian Karembeu, the player of France Football team which became champions in the FIFA World Cup 1998 has come with the World Cup trophy. President of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Kazi Salahuddin and the other high officials of BFF received the trophy at the Airport.
Karembeu played 54 international matches wearing the jersey of France National Football team. The French defender scored only one goal in his international career. He played for Real Madrid in Spanish La Liga from 1997 to 2000. He took part in 51 matches for Real Madrid.
The FIFA World Cup trophy has been stayed at the Hotel Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden. The trophy brought to Bangabhaban in the afternoon and brought to Ganabhaban in the evening. A gala dinner party was held at the Hotel Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden in the night.
The noted persons will take part in the photo session with the World Cup trophy on Thursday at the Hotel. The trophy will be brought to Bangladesh Army Stadium in the city’s Banani on the Thursday afternoon. The trophy will be displayed at the Stadium. An entertaining concert will be held at the Stadium on Thursday evening at Bangladesh Army Stadium marking the arrival of the FIFA World Cup trophy. The Trophy will be brought to East Timor from Bangladesh on Friday night by a special chartered flight.
