FIFA, the highest body of world football has given approval the upcoming Bangabandhu Gold Cup as an International Football Tournament. Bangabandhu Gold Cup International Football Tournament is scheduled to be held in Bangladesh from January 29.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Md Abu Nayeem Shohag informed that matter to the newsmen on Wednesday.
A total of six countries will splitting into two groups will take part in the gala extravaganza. Bangladesh Malayasia, Sri Lanka have been billed in Group A while Bahrain, Singapore and Thailand have been placed in Group B.
The curtain of Bangabandhu Gold Cup International Football Tournament will be raised at Sylhet District Stadium on January 29.
Hosts Bangladesh will face Malaysia in the opening match.
Three group matches and a semifinal will be held at the Sylhet District Stadium while rest of the matches including the final match will be taken place at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. The final will be held on February 8.
