Field day on BRRI Dhan75 and Bina Dhan 17 two variety zinc rice was held at Lakshirpar village under Bishambarpur Upazila in Sunamganj district on Sunday.
A field day is a large trade show for agricultural industry and equipment, especially for broadacre farming.
The programme was organized by Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) and Supported by International Rice Recherché Institute (IRRI). Around 50 farmers attended the field day.
Bishambarpur Upazila Agriculture officer KBD Nayon Miah attended the programme as the chief guest. Farmer Abdus Subhan Presided and Project Officer of FIVDB IRRI- Agri Project Md Saiful Islam conducted this Programme.
BRRI dhan75 and Bina Dhan 17 two variety zinc rice, have gained popularity among farmers in Sunamganj district during the current season. After the crop cutting, BRRI dhan75 yielded 9.1 t/ha which was better than any other inbreed variety cultivated in this season of Sunamganj area.
