A field day titled “Companion Crop Cultivation Profitablely with Modern Technology” was held at Mahishbhanga Agricultural Ground in Baraigram Upazila of Natore district on Saturday. The field day was inaugurated by Prof. Md. Abdul Quddus,Member of Parliament (MP).
On the occasion a function was held presided over by Dr.Amjad Hossain, Director General of Bangladesh Sugarcrop Research Institute (BSRI), Ishwardi,Pabna and conducted by Rashedul Islam Pavel. Prof. Md. Abdul Quddus, Member of Parliament for Natore-4 constituency was the chief guest at the function and special guests were Bonpara Municipal Mayor KM Zakir Hossain, Chief Scientific Officer and Project Director of BSRI, Ishwardi Dr. Abu Taher Sohail and Chief Scientific Officer Md. Hasibur Rahman.
Besides, Upazila Agriculture Officer Sharmin Sultana, Baraigram Upazila Awami League President Abdul Quddus Miaji, Principal of Bonpara Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Women’s Honors College Abdur Razzak Mollah, Upazila Krishak League President Wazed Sonar, Krishak Golam Rasul and others spoke on the occasion. More than half a hundred farmers of the area were present there. The field day was organized by the Bangladesh Sugarcrop Research Institute, Ishwardi and funded by the National Crop Production Project of Pulses, Spices and Vegetables as a companion crop.
