Under RDRS Bangladesh Core Comprehensive Program, on Monday morning at Ghonapara village of Taraganj upazila of Rangpur district, after harvesting paddy of Md. Rabbani farmer’s demonstration plot, climate tolerant BRRI Dhan 87 Paddy Field Day was held with local farmers.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Urmi Tabassum. Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Md. Mozammel Haque was present as special guest. Agriculturists Fazlul Karim and Anup Kumar Ghosh, Agriculture Officer and Tapas Kumar, Philip Facilitator RDRS Rangpur were present.
Speakers said that as a short-term variety, climate tolerant BRRI rice 87 varieties are profitable.
Farmers cultivate brie paddy in 50 acres of land and yield 5.7 tons per hectare. RDRS Bangladesh is working with 20 exhibitions in Taraganj Upazila.
