FIBA Asia Cup Bangladesh make good start beating Bhutan by 61-49 points

Hosts Bangladesh made a good start in the South Asian Qualifiers of the Dhaka Bank FIBA Asia Champions Cup’2021 beating Bhutan by 61-49 points in the opening match at Dhanmondi wooden floor gymnasium here on Tuesday.
The winners led the first half by 35-31 points.
Earlier, State Minister for Youth and Sports, Dr. Biren Sikder inaugurated the meet in the afternoon at a simple ceremony.
Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA), Syed Shaheed Reza was also present on the occasion as special guest.
Bangladesh Basketball Federation (BBF) President, Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin and BBF General Secretary, AK Sarkar were also present on the occasion.
Five South Asian countries– Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and hosts Bangladesh – were taking part in the South Asian qualifiers.
The champions and runners-up teams will qualify for the 2nd phase of the meet.
