The government distributed Taka over 9.19 crore among 3,065 Freedom Fighters (FFs) as allowance in 11 upazilas of the district during the last three months (October to December).
The government distributed Taka 10,000 per month as allowance to each Freedom Fighter to help him lead a better life.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr M Aminur Rahman said the Freedom Fighters, the best sons and daughters of the soil, have been getting the allowance timely through their respective bank accounts.
Former unit commander of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad, Naogaon, Harun- or-Rashid said they have been taking the allowance as a mark of deep respect to the Freedom Fighters by the government.
The Freedom Fighters also thanked the present government for taking necessary very recent steps to further increase the monthly allowance rate for the freedom fighters.
