Freedom fighter Ismail Hossain Bengal died of coronavirus. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment in the ICU of Green Life Hospital in the capital around 1:30 pm on Monday.
Ismail Hossain Bengal was a politician and businessman in his career and was one of the founders and Organizing Secretary of the Muktijoddha Sangsad while he later served as Senior Vice-President. He has also served as the Chief Adviser of the Muktijoddha Projonmo.
He was nominated by the Jatiya Party in the 1988 elections in the former Chandpur-6 (now Chandpur-4) and Dhaka-10 (Ramna) constituencies. He was the Chief Co-ordinator of the Jatiya Party’s Election Management Committee.
