A Freedom Fighter was shot to death by unidentified miscreants at Paksey union under Ishwardi upazila of Pabna district around 9pm on Wednesday night.
The deceased identified as Mostafizur Rahman Selim, 65, was the former General Secretary of Paksey Union Unit of Awami League.
Dr Shafikul Islam Shamim, Residential Physician of Ishwardi Upazila Hospital told the news media that victim was given primary treatment and later sent to Rajshahi Medicale College Hospital, but he died on the way to Rajshahi.
Local sources said, some unidentified miscreants shot Selim just in front of his residence in BBC Bazar area of the upazila. He succumbed to injuries while being taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH).
Habibul Islam Hobibul, President of Paksey Union Unit of Awami League said it.
The body will be sent to morgue for an autopsy, Ishwardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Bahauddin Faruki told media.
