Sheikh Abdul Hanif, freedom fighter and founder of Haqqani Mission Bangladesh (HAMIBA), died of cardiac arrest at his residence in Mirpur here on Saturday.
He was 73, HAMIBA Secretary General Shah NC Rudra told BSS on Saturday.
Hanif, a preacher of liberal Sufi ideals and Editor of Saptahik Bartaman Sanglap, left behind his wife, a daughter and a host of relatives, disciples and admirers to mourn his death.
His namaz-e-janaza will be held at Joty Bhaban, Astana of HAMIBA premises at Mirpur-6 in the city at 11 am today.
