Council of Sylhet District Unit of Awami League (AL) will be held at the Sylhet Govt. Alia Madrasha Maidan of the district on 5 December.
Festive mood sprung up among AL leaders and activists focuses on the conference. Pestering, festoons and omamented gateway are being created on the focus of the triennial conference. There has been a great deal of enthusiasm among the party young leaders, senior leaders and activists. The AL team is working on the target of gathered more than one lakh people in the conference. The party office was resounding with the leaders and the town was colorfully decorated focusing the conference, sources said.
District AL sources said, the conference of Sylhet district AL was held 2011 last. Abduj Johir Chowdhury Sufian and Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury were selected as president and general secretary for the district committee in the previous conference.Later, a full-fledged committee of 71 members were formed for the district unit AL.
Awami League dist unit sources said, Bangladesh Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridge Minister Obaidul Quader will attend the conference as chief guest while Awami League Central Organizing secretary Ahmed Hossain, Adv Misbah Uddin Shiraj will present as special guest.
General Secretary of Sylhet district unit of AL Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury told that all necessary initiatives have been taken to make the council a success.

Sources said, District Awami League Office now are crowded by AL leaders and activists on focusning the conference. All the leaders are actively participating in any programme of the party. The prospective candidates for the post of president are the Present District Secretary Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury, Vice President Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhury MP, Sadar Upazila Chairman Ashfaq Ahmed, FF Mashuk Uddin Ahmed and candidates for the post of Secretary Present Vice President Shah Farid Ahmed, Joint Secretary Adv Nizam Uddin, Sujat Ali Rafiq, Adv Nasir Uddin Khan, Dakshin Surma Upazila Chairman Abu Zahid, Joglu Chowdhury.
