Ferdous Ara’s Nazrul Geeti Evening at IGCC today

Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) is organising an evening of Nazrul Geeti by one of Bangladesh’s most popular and revered artists, Ferdous Ara, and students of her music school, Surshaptak, at 6.30 pm today at the IGCC at Gulshan-1 in the city.
Ferdous Ara is a highly accomplished and versatile Nazrul artiste of Bangladesh. She has represented Bangladesh in several acclaimed performances abroad.
She has the distinction of performing at an International Gala concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 1986. She has also visited New Delhi and Kolkata for performances under ICCR sponsorship in January 2011.
Ferdous Ara has been adorned with several national awards including the Shilpacharya Jainul Abedin Gold medal. She has been a regular artiste of Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television since 1973 and 1974 respectively and has earned plaudits for her artistic excellence.
Ferdous Ara has published several albums of Nazrul Sangeet till date. She has also lent her voice in many films, plays and documentaries.
