On the occasion of birth anniversaries of Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam noted Nazrul singer Ferdous Ara will perform in a special programme to be held at Dhaka Club on June 13.
Besides her solo performance, students of Ferdous Ara’s musical school, Surshaptak will also perform in the programme titled Rabindra-Nazrul Joyonti Utsab, which is scheduled to be held at 8:30pm at Dhaka Club today.
After performing Surshaptak Ferdous will render 12 songs as a solo performer in the programme. Both Tagore songs and Nazrul Sangeet will be presented. Besides, Ferdous Ara noted Tagore artiste Tapan Mahmud will render Tagore songs in the programme.
While talking about her performance in the show Ferdous Ara told this correspondent, “I am giving thanks to Dhaka Club to arrange such programme. In the programme, I will render several selected Nazrul songs. I will also keep requests from the audience while rendering song. I hope audience will enjoy the show.”
Ferdous Ara is now working as a judge in Channel i-Khudey Gaanraj. Therefore, she is also rendering songs in different satellite channels. On Nazrul’s birth anniversary, third and fourth volme of Ferdous Ara’s albums were released. Besides rendering song, Ferdous Ara has been also hosting a musical show titled Gaan-er Oparey Harano Diner Gaan on Ekushey Television for many days.
