A woman and her teenage daughter, who received burn injuries in a fire at a building in Feni district town on March 5, have died at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Burn victim Meherunnisa Lipi,38, succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday afternoon while her daughter Hafsa Islam,15, on Thursday morning.
After autopsy, the bodies will be taken to Mirsarai upazila of Chattogram for burial, family said. Meanwhile, Lipi’s elder daughter Farha Islam,18, who also received burn injuries, has been given treatment at the house of a relative in Dhaka.
Lipi, wife of Mahbubul Islam who lives in Dubai, and their two daughters, received burn injuries in a fire that broke out following an explosion at a residential building on Shaheed Shahidullah Kaisar Road at night on March 5.
A probe has been ordered into the explosion, police said.
