Feni District team will face Narayanganj District team in the final of the Sailor BFF National Under-15 Football Championship at the Bangabandhu National Stadium today. The match kicks-off at 5.00 pm. State-owned television channel Bangladesh Television will telecast the match live from the big bowl.
Regarding the gala final, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) House on Saturday. Vice-President of Bangladesh Football Federation Badal Roy, Coordinator of the Tournament Committee Fazlur Rahman Babul, Secretary of the Organising Committee of the Tournament Satyajit Das Rupu, Captain of Narayanganj District team Antar Kumar, Captain of Feni District team Iftekhar Hossain Konik were present at the conference, among others.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder, MP will be the chief guest of the final. President of BFF Kazi Salahuddin, Senior Vice-President of the Federation Abdus Salam Murshedy, Managing Director of Epyllion Group Reazuddin Al Mamun will also be present.
A total of 61 districts took part at the eight venues. Of them, eight teams played in the final round.
Narayanganj District team moved to the final beating Sylhet District team in the semifinal while Feni District team reached the final beating Dhaka District team in the semifinal.
The final was scheduled to be held on September 2. But due to inclement weather and unplayable condition of the ground the final was not held according to the fixture.
Captain of Narayanganj District team Antar Kumar said, ” I am little bit nervous. We had a good practice in the last 10 days. Narayaganj always play to win. I am confident we shall win.”
Captain of Feni District team Iftekhar Hossain Konik said, “I thank to Epyllion Group that it has sponsored such a big tournament. We got 10 days to practice for the final. I am hopeful for win. We shall play to win.”
The champions will be awarded Tk two lakh while the runners-up will get Tk one lakh as prize-money.
