Police arrested female vice-chairman of Chitalamri upazila, Runa Gazi, from her house at Bakkhagathi village on Thursday night.
Tipped off that Runa, also president of upazila unit of Mahila Dal, was planning to carry out subversive activities, a team of police conducted a raid on her house and arrested her, said officer-in-charge of Chitalmari Police Station M Rabiul Islam.
Runa was produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate of the district on Friday which sent her to jail, he added.
A case was also filed against the female upazila vice chairman in this connection.
Meanwhile, police arrested 24 other people in separate drives in nine upazilas of the district on Thursday night.
