A female union parishad (UP) member was stabbed to death by unknown criminals in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj early Wednesday. The deceased Beauty Akter Kutti was a member (reserved seat) of Kayetpara Union Parishad.
She was the wife of Late Hasan Muhuri, a resident of Pashchimgaon village, our local correspondent reports.
Quoting the victim’s son Parvez Ahmed, Rupganj Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahmudul Hasan said, the incident took place when Beauty Begum went for a walk this morning.
Locals found Beauty dead on the road near a slum with stab injuries in her arms and head around 6:30am, the OC said.
A drive is on to arrest the killers, the OC said.
The body has been sent to Narayanganj General Hospital for autopsy.
