A female schoolteacher sustained acid burn injuries at BIP Colony area of the city on early Monday. It was suspected that her husband might have done this as thrown over case lodged by her at family court against him.
The victim identified as Asma Aktar, 34, a teacher of Amirabad Government Primary School under Nalcity upazila of Jhalakathi and mother of an 8-year old son.
She was daughter of Water Development Board CBA leader Abul Hossain Talukdar and living with her father at the ground floor of the F-1/8 of BIP colony as husband sent her a divorce letter and she lodged case against that.
Different items at the bed- room of the victim also burnt due to inflammable liquids thrown throw open window of the room targeting her.
Asma was admitted at surgery unit of Barisal Sher- e- Bangla Medical College Hospital after the incident.
