Students of three female residential halls of Chittagong University yesterday demanded the authority extend the entrance time limit for three hours.
Students of Deshnetri Begum Khaleda Zia Hall, Pritilota Hall and Samsunnahar hall submitted a written memorandum to CU Vice-Chancellor Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury in this regard.
Most resident students of CU are from middle-class families and to meet up their educational expenses they go to the city to work as private tutors after finishing classes at 4:00pm, said the memorandum.
The students return to campus by shuttle train by 8:30pm which exceeds the stipulated hall entrance time for female students is 7:00pm, it added.
So the female students demanded the authority extend the hall entrance time from 7:00pm to 10:00pm.
Contacted, CU VC said they will consider the demand.
